Choosing a career in the entertainment industry can be risky - or not. I’ve been a dance/theatre professional for 40+ years now and have not regretted one moment. My performing career has included National Tours, Regional Theatre, Film/TV, Commercials and Nightclubs, Choreographing Musicals, amd Teachjng at Studios and universities. I’ve lived and worked in many metropolitan cities across the US, and have met many of my best friends. (FIX THIS). I believe that the stories we tell and share as artists have the ability to change the world (copy from below).

Early Days: My story begins near Hollywood which is where I grew up. My mother was a violinist and introduced me to the world of Broadway, music, and dance when I was a little girl. She saw that I was smitten and started me in ballet class and piano lessons starting at age 5. Later, I widened my dance focus to include Jazz, Tap and Ethnic Dance ( Egyptian/African/Balkan). After graduating from UC Berkeley (BA in Women’s Studies/Dance), I moved across the Bay to San Francisco which is where my performing career began -- first as a Middle Eastern Belly Dancer in SF Nightclubs. I soon recognized that my career passion was actually in Musical Theatre (bringing my mother’s influence full circle) . My boyfriend (Robert) and I decided to get married we moved back to Los Angeles for more work opportunities and to start our new life together.

Back in LA, I was inspired by many great directors, choreographers and mentors (e.g. Joe Tremaine, Joe Bennett, Henry LeTang and Paul Gleason) and soon became a proud member of AEA and SAG/Aftra. Early Performing Favorites:- National Tours: “A Chorus Line” (Diana Morales); “The Rhythm Kings Jazz Orchestra: Starring the Legendary Cab Calloway” (Jazz/Tap Dancer), Regional Theatre: “Cabaret” (Kit Kat Girl), “Company” (Kathy), “Into the Woods” (Stepmother). Film/TV: Tap starring Gregory Hines/Sammy Davis Jr., (choreographed by my tap mentor, Henry LeTang); The Alan King Show. (*Maybe Add Later Performing Highlights to include Fiddler,

Benefits of Moving: It’s often been said that Dancers are “Gypsies”. We found that being open to change proved to be an asset for steady theatrical employment, and we’ve criss-crossed the country: First to Chicago. (where our beautiful daughter was born), Then Seattle. (where I choreographed musicals /taught (jazz/tap/musical theatre), wrote/acted with a social justice theatre company, and created a Comedic Cabaret Production Company (Fried by Five) with my dear friend. We also lived briefly in Indianapolis. and now live in Connecticut.
